Bush Fires in and around New South Wales, Victoria and Australia

The bush fire season in Australia for 2019-2020 has intensified and raged across huge areas of the country since September 2019. Thousands of residents and tourists have been forced to flee or take shelter as flames ravage towns in the southeastern states of New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria. There are also fires blazing in parts of Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. An estimated 10.7m hectares have been burnt, with approximately 6000 buildings destroyed, and 29 people killed. An estimated 1 billion animals have also been killed leaving a huge impact on various species. Each Australian state has its own firefighting agencies. In New South Wales there are two primary agencies, Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service, which these units attend to the bulk of the responses. Within these units thousands of firefighters and several hundred firefighting vehicles have been mobilised to attend to the fires as they evolve.

Narara Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade

The Narara Rural Fire Brigade was founded in 1966. Since that time, they have attended to numerous emergency responses in not only their own region, but beyond as far to both US and Canada helping with the efforts to contain wild-fires with specialist skills. Like all RFS brigades in New South Wales, it is operated by a team of proud volunteers who do not question giving up their time and talent to be able contribute to the safety and well being of their community. At times also being away for days at a time on deployment. This is a volunteer effort, and the team give up their hours at their workplace (and many times salaries) in order to provide their time to contribute. A lot of the equipment used and running costs required are provided through donations and community fund raising events.

Giving Back

Our lead developer at Reddcoin (Gnasher) is also an active member of the Narara Rural Fire Brigade, contributing his time not only to the Reddcoin Project, but also to the greater needs of the community around him. We see a part of what our team is trying to build and to encapsulate is that community spirit, and to be able to provide back to those who need it most. We want to take this opportunity to appeal the awesome crypto community to which we belong, to reach into their hearts and pockets and provide a token of your support to the efforts being provided by others. We created this page so that you can easily send a few tokens to support the efforts of the Narara Rural Fire Service. Thankyou Team Reddcoin

A Personal Note from Reddcoin.

[vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1580174361161{padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;}”]As a longtime volunteer crypto project, and one formed as a way to use cryptocurrency to drive social good and assistance, Reddcoin wants to take a moment to acknowledge the horrifying conditions our brothers and sisters in Australia, among other locations, have endured with the ongoing Australian Bushfires. It hit especially close to home as our own John Nash is a resident of Sydney and a volunteer firefighter himself. When the fires began to threaten neighbors and friends, John and his brigade, and countless others, put themselves in the way of it, repeatedly, because if not them, then who? Reddcoin as a volunteer project wanted to extend what support and solidarity we could as a dev team, but also especially as a community of well-wishers, ReddHeads, and genuinely good, caring people, many of whom expressed a desire to donate directly to provide supplies and equipment for those same firefighters.

As John has told us, such assistance and replacement equipment and gear is critical to their ongoing work. And in addition, due to the staking nature of our beloved Reddcoin, we realized that establishing a Reddcoin fund for these agencies and fire brigades that they could hold themselves and only convert and spend as needed, they would in fact benefit form the staking rewards themselves to enlarge donations. Since that also would help send the message that crypto has a use beyond trading, this, we feel, would also be useful in demonstrating that to the world and helping drive adoption in a way that only Reddcoin really can.

However, in the true spirit of community, we have also realized that collaborating with other crypto and blockchain projects to broadcast this message of support to the firefighters, across every community and crypto site would be the only real way to be as successful as possible, and really pull together support. So we also call to each and every such group or project, let us know you want to sign on and promote the simple message of support and love we are trying to collectively send, and we’re happy to add you to the list of supporting projects.

Donation addresses are below. All funds donated will be retained in private crypto wallets under the control of the target organization or groups, and should be considered as gifts or donations.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1580174601817{padding-top: 30px !important;}”]
